About retaking a quiz and attempt history

NOTE: If you are submitting a quiz again after grading by an Assessor, you will only be required to answer the questions you have not yet answered correctly. These will be detailed in the assessor's feedback. The other answers in your new attempt will also be blank, but you do not have to fill them in again.

A quiz may be set to allow you to complete multiple attempts. The number of allowed attempts is listed in the quiz details. You can also view the history of your past attempts.

Retaking a quiz

When you submit the quiz, if you can retake the quiz, the "Take the Quiz Again" button appears above your attempt history.

Resuming a quiz

You can continue a quiz you have started but did not complete. As you take your quiz, Canvas auto-saves each response so if you navigate away from an unfinished quiz you can pick up where you left off.

Find the quiz you would like to continue.
Select the title and select the "Resume Quiz" button.
The quiz will start where you left off.

Viewing previous attempt history

When you open a quiz with previous attempts, you will see the Attempt History listed under the quiz details.

Attempt History: View your score and answers from previous quiz attempts.

Last Attempt Details: View the score for your last attempt.

Attempt Overview: See how many attempts you have completed and how many you have left.
